Your personal background.
How many times
have you reached for a cool white wine at the end of a long
hard day? It seems Chardonnay is the choice for many women! Do you have feelings of
inadequacy? Do you suffer from shyness? Do you sometimes wish you were
more assertive? If you answered yes to any of these questions, ask your doctor
or pharmacist (or bartender or liquor store clerk) about
Chardonnay. Chardonnay is the safe, natural way to feel better and
more confident about yourself and your actions. Chardonnay
can help ease you out of your shyness and let you tell the
world that you're ready and willing to do just about anything.
You will notice the benefits of Chardonnay almost immediately and with a regimen of regular
doses you can overcome any obstacles that prevent you from living the life you want
to live. Shyness and
awkwardness will be a thing of the past and you will discover many talents you never knew you had.
Stop hiding and start living, with Chardonnay.
Chardonnay may not be right for everyone. Women who are pregnant or nursing
should not use Chardonnay. However, women who wouldn't mind nursing or becoming pregnant are encouraged to try it.

Ruggerio. They will also be offering Washington Trail Red, which is a Rhone-ish red wine, light and fruity.

It is predominantly Chambourcin. What I tasted was President's
Choice, the biggest of their red wines that will be available
when the tastingroom opens. President's Choice is made from Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
The Chambourcin is estate grown. The wine has
some oak to it. This is a lovely, medium-bodied, garnet
red colored dry red wine. There were lots of dark cherry,
plum, and a touch of raspberry, with a hint of vanilla and oak.
Excellent balance, with nice fruit up front, and solid tannin s and acidity to make for a well balanced wine.
A very nice wine. I liked very much! Great with grilled
meats, spicy pasta dishes, and with some aged Parmesan or
Cheddar.

The wine is a lighter
ruby
color in the glass with nice clarity, classic for a
quality GSM blend. The nose presents inviting floral aromas of rose petals and lavender with
undertones of ripe black fruit and
basalt. The taste is a rush of cool fruit, black plum and
blueberry with a bit of tart cherry that transitions almost unnoticed to earthy
flavors of olive, white pepper spice and a hint of rosemary.

The tannins are quite smooth, providing a great start to the velvety smooth and very dry finish that seems to
linger. This wine is to my mind very comparable in old world style to the many high quality GSM blends from the Southern Rhone Valley of France.
Overall, I would rate this wine a solid 8.5, as
it's an approachable and easy drinking wine that's quite
versatile from a food pairing perspective. I actually brought a bottle of this to Thanksgiving dinner and we enjoyed it with
classic turkey dinner (something that's a challenge to pair with
a red wine), but it would also pair well with hearty stews,
lamb or risotto. Tonight I am enjoying this wine with some panko
crusted center cut pork chops, cheese risotto and steamed broccoli and red peppers.

News flash: Rum isn’t just swaying palm
trees and tropical breezes. Sure, the sugarcane-based spirit is often associated with the Caribbean, since it’s made in nearly every tropical and subtropical region.
But it’s produced in decidedly non-tropical areas, too.
We’re looking at you, New England. Rum has no
single homeland. It’s a spirit with incredible diversity and soulfulness,
though it’s also one that can be confusing.
Gaze over the vast sea of rum on today’s retail shelves, and it can overwhelm.
How do you decide what to do with them all? What follows are briefs
on the various types of rum, with a focus on the
aromas, flavors and textures that define each overall style.
It’s about how you might enjoy the rum, whether it’s clear and crisp,
just right for a squeeze of lime or a barrel-aged number that’s rich with brown sugar sweetness
and ideal for sipping as the sun sets.

Apple cider bourbon whiskey cocktails are easy and made using a
crock pot. Perfect for fall weather and football season! Chelsey from Budget Girl!

Fall is nearly here! August really flew by, didn’t it?
I don’t know about the rest of you, but fall is my favorite season and I’m really excited
for it this year. Not for any particular reason, I think summer is just getting to me a bit.
Not that it’s going to cool down in Georgia any time
soon, but I look forward to it regardless. Not this year,
though! This year, I’ve already put two apple recipes on my blog (two!
The first was apple pie with streusel and the other was a batch of apple beermosas.
So this would should be refreshing in how easy and clean it is.
I love bourbon. Love it.

In fact, I’ve been incorporating it into recipes a lot lately (check out my Butter Pecan Bourbon Cake!).
I especially love flavored bourbon—apple cider, pecan pie (oh, yes, that does exist), honey…my brother-in-law recently found a blackberry bourbon that was amazing.
This recipe uses plain Evan Williams Straight
Bourbon, but any of those would be delicious, as well.
Even the blackberry, probably. I think I might have to try it
and find out, though! This is an easy recipe. Pour some apple cider into a crock pot and set the temperature to "low." Let it warm up for an hour or two.
Then pour 2 ounces of bourbon into a glass and add 6 ounces of warm
cider to it. If you want, you can add a cinnamon stick to that, but I found it unnecessary
(and difficult to drink around).

This is absolutely wonderful, but it has a bit of a kick. So if you’re
not used to drinking bourbon, this might hit you a little hard.
And the great thing about it is that, if you have guests who don’t drink,
they have some plain warm apple cider to drink from. If you
don’t like bourbon, I did try this with red wine a few
years ago and that was also great (and a great way to get rid of some wine you don’t particularly care
for). As for me, I find the bourbon very pleasant. This is
wonderful to just sit and sip on a fall day.

It also makes a pretty cheap drink for football parties, in fact!

Pair it with my jalapeno beer queso dip! What are you looking forward to this fall?
2. Put the apple cider in a crock
pot and heat on low for at least an hour. 3. Pour 2 ounces of bourbon whiskey
into a glass. 4. Pour 6 ounces of warm apple cider
over the whiskey. Stir gently to combine.

Our first day on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail took us
to three distilleries: Bulleit, Angel's Envy and
Evan Williams. During the day we learned about the process for creating
bourbon whiskey and tasted a fair sample of the finished product.
Our first tasting was at the old Stitzel-Weller Distillery where
we learned about Bulleit Frontier Whiskey.
Thomas Bulleit, Jr. began producing Bulleit Frontier Whiskey
in 1987 by reviving an old Bulleit family recipe.
Bulleit produces high rye content Bourbon whiskey which has a bold, spicy
character. Construction of the Stitzel-Weller distillery facilities there began soon after the end of Prohibition. This place looks like
what you'd expect for a historic distillery: old brick buildings surrounded by tall, black rick houses all of which are found in a low
lying, trees covered hollow. Angel's Envy Distillery was quite a contrast to Stitzel-Weller.

Angel's Envy Distillery is a modern facility located on Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville.
Additionally, Angel's Envy is a Kentucky straight bourbon finished in barrels used to age port wine.
As a result, the look and taste of Angel's Envy is significantly different than the Bulleit high rye whiskeys.
This double barrel process produces some
very interesting results. Angel's Envy is a small distillery producing high quality
whiskeys and unique tastes. Their bottles are beautiful.
Our tour of Angel's Envy put us only a few blocks from historic Brown Hotel.
Of course, we had to drop in at the J. Graham's Cafe for a Hot Brown at its place of
origin. We were not disappointed. Our delicious, filling lunch prepared us well for our Evan Williams tasting which was
also only a few blocks away. The Hot Brown lived up to its reputation along with the hotel.
After lunch, we had our final tasting of the day at
the Evan Williams tasting room on Whiskey Row. The tour was interesting with
its high tech vignettes and historic reproductions. The tasting was informative.
The take away was Evan Williams was a good,
inexpensive whiskey which makes good mixed drinks. It was
a great start to what was proving to be a very interesting and
fun experience. We visited historic old facilities, as
well as, modern state of the art. We ate well and drank well.
The weather was fine. Our accommodations were comfortable and convenient.

Captain Morgan Rum- Captain Morgan is a popular spiced rum that has a dark amber tinge and tastes of hints of
spices that make it delicious when mixed with coke.
Captain Morgan offers different proofs, a coconut infused rum known as Parrot Bay,
and mixed drinks such as Long Island iced tea ready to be served straight from the bottle.

Captain Morgan also have silver spiced rum that does not have the gold tinge that the
original spiced rum possesses. Captain Morgan is a mid-grade rum that is affordable, and people are drawn to
the flavors it produces. You do not want to argue with anyone
who drinks with Captain Morgan as they will argue that it
is the best rum of all time. Goslings Black Seal Rum - Goslings Rum is produced in Bermuda by Goslings Brothers Incorporated.

Goslings Rum offers many types of rums, but their best rum is their black seal label that
reaps profits from it’s exquisite taste and trendy
dark color. Goslings Rum is another mid-grade rum that
is affordable and can be purchased almost anywhere.
Goslings Rum also produces gold rums, light rums, and flavored rums which are quite popular, but not as popular as their dark rum when placed in the competition with the Captain Morgan and Bacardi brands.
Rum is one of the oldest types of liquors that there is
and it continues to make history as manufacturers and
distillers find new approaches to marketing
their brands, make their brands more appealing and flavorful.
