I posted information about the ODLK1 project here
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=11837&postid=83670#83670

I ask everyone to participate in the promotion of the project ODLK1.

There are many different resources in each country, dedicated to distributed computing.
In Russia, for example, this is the forum http://forum.boinc.ru/

Thank you for participating!

In Australia lives a major researcher of the Latin squares Ian Wanless.
See
https://research.monash.edu/en/persons/ian-wanless

I see the address here
E-mail Ian.Wanless@monash.edu
My friend, who lives in Australia, told me that the address should be written so
Ian.Wanless@monash.edu.au
I wrote a letter to this address (November 20, 2017).

«Hello, dear Ian!

You are engaged in Latin squares.
I also do Latin squares.
We can communicate?

Currently there is a BOINC project ODLK
https://boinc.progger.info/odlk/

I ask you to see this project and its results.
I invite you to the forum of project
https://boinc.progger.info/odlk/forum_thread.php?id=1

You can tell us your opinion about our results.
Also your recommendations on the further search for ODLS are interesting.

You can write your messages in English.

Best regards,
Natalia Makarova»

But I did not get an answer.
I wanted to draw Ian Wanless's attention to our ODLK project. I thought that it would be interesting to him.
But I could not make contact with Ian Wanless.
Maybe I wrote an incorrect e-mail?

The email address is correct according to:

https://cecs.anu.edu.au/people/ian-wanless

More likely your email went to a spam folder or he gets a lot of email !

A good opportunity for the project is to get whitelisted with Gridcoin as this will bring in a lot of crunchers. (The Gridcoin team has the highest Recent average credit of all teams and more than 4.5 times that of second place.)

There is currently a discussion regarding whitelisting ODLK and ODLK1 here:

https://cryptocurrencytalk.com/topic/88073-odlk/?tab=comments#comment-418847

Input from someone from the project would go a long way to having the projects whitelisted.

In general we require a project that:
- Provides a steady flow of work without significant gaps.
- Has a minimal amount of workunit errors.
- Fairly distributes work to users and allows user sign-ups.
- Preferably uses SSL/TLS.

I want to know the opinion of the administrators Progger and ice00 on this issue.
The opinion of ODLK and ODLK1 project participants is also interesting.

Different site and owner and ip, are they working together? database for users are same but anything else different and new url are related to multi-pool site: http://multi-pool.info/
Contact admin before whitelist this project if this is a valid url to project.

I explain.
The ODLK1 project is launched on a server kindly provided to us by a colleague from Italy.
This project continues to solve the problem of the ODLK project.

Thank You.

Ice00 has responded positively on the Gridcoin thread regarding the ODLK1 server.

I will continue to raise the possiblility of getting both ODLK & ODLK1 whitelisted for Gridcoin rewards and hopefully we can get a poll raised for the community to vote on in the near future. I will try and feedback any other concerns or questions that are raised by the community.

We discussed the issue of Gridcoin a little.

Progger wrote:

https://boinc.progger.info/odlk/forum_thread.php?id=21&postid=587#587

G_UK
please, tell more in detail about the mechanism of Gridcoin.
Specifically interested in the following questions:

1. What needs to be done to the user in order to receive rewards in the Gridcoin system?
2. What is the rate for remuneration? (for how many points is given 1 coin "gridcoin")

If the participants of our projects ODLK and ODLK1 have other questions, please ask.

I am not sure how Gridcoin works, (and i don´t want to)

But as i have seen on other project, when allowing Gridcoin,, there will be less work, maybe nothing, for us regualer Boinc users to run,??
(i think) :/

Each cruncher is first assigned a Project Magnitude for each project in the whitelist using this calculation.

Project Magnitude = ((Researcher_RAC/Team_RAC)/Number_Whitelist_Projects) * 115000

Where RAC (Recent Average Credit) is defined by BOINC.
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Computation_credit

Then to work out their total reward the following is calculated each Superblock (minted every 24-48 hours by the blochchain):

Reward = Research_Age * Magnitude * Magnitude_Unit

Where:
Research_Age = The time from the last minted block the CPID staked in days.
Magnitude_Unit = The factor that adjusts the coin production for a total daily research reward of 48,000 Gridcoins (GRC).
Magnitude = The Sum of Project Magnitudes a CPID is running.

In simple terms 48,000GRC are minted each day, these are equally split between each whitelisted project and then within each project they are awarded proportionally to each Team Gridcoin member based on each users project RAC.

To recieve rewards a user must crunch one or more whitelisted project, be a member of Team Gridcoin and either stake a block as a solo cruncher or crunch as part of a gridcoin pool.

It is planned that the team requirement will be removed in the future but currently it is needed to help validate user CPID's and their associated RAC.

The whole process is is transparently and permanently recorded in the Gridcoin blockchain.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockchain
https://www.gridcoinstats.eu

The whitelist is required to increase security, fairness of rewards and to focus users resources on active projects.

Examples of reasons why projects are not whitelisted or are currently being removed from the whitelist:

Sourcefinder: Cannot provide enough work to give all users a fair chance to get work (so it becomes a lottery on who can get the work units).
Leiden Classical: Restricted new user sign-ups giving an unfair advantage to older crunchers who signed up before the restriction was put in place.
Sztaki Desktop Grid: Does not fairly distribute work, some users recieve all the work others recieve none.
Climate Prediction: Does not regularly update user statistics to calculate rewards.

Further information can be found here:
https://steemit.com/gridcoin/@guk/gridcoin-whitelisted-projects
https://github.com/gridcoin-community/Gridcoin-Tasks/issues/194

ODLK & ODLK1 are currently being voted on by Gridcoin users on whether to whitelist. If this is positive and and the project thinks they can handle the extra crunchers we should be able to whitelist
https://www.gridcoinstats.eu/poll

@morgan
We made a mistake whitelisting Sourcefinder and are therefore removing it from the whitelist as explained above. Since then we have been trying to clarify and agree the whitelist requirements with the userbase to ensure it does not happen again.

Team Gridcoin has grown massively this year and now has a combined RAC approximately 5x that of the next largest team*, a project could expect a step change increase of at least 20-25% in processing power when it is whitelisted. We have now acknowledged that this can cause issues and need to more carefully manage the whitelist.

thank you for your story.

Projects ODLK and ODLK1 have a very large amount of work.
The number of jobs can be increased. In projects automatic generation of jobs works.

https://www.gridcoinstats.eu/poll/whitelist_poll:_odlk_round_2
https://www.gridcoinstats.eu/poll

https://news.yandex.ru/yandsearch?cl4url=rg.ru/2018/01/12/v-rossii-vpervye-kuplena-elektrostanciia-dlia-majninga-kriptovaliut.html&lang=ru&from=main_portal&stid=hrZDN7STUOIILrDz1SPu&t=1515747525&lr=194&msid=1515747979.55109.22883.16382&mlid=1515747525.glob_225.bc646a8b
