With the new year we organized a new K-Tuple competition:

https://primesmagicgames.altervista.org/wp/primes-k-tuple-2/

The competition will last 3 months and is for finding new result about some k-tuple open problems (there are 7 tasks).

Unless this Boinc project were all contribute to find solutions in latin squares field donating CPU power, the competition is for people that like to code programs and experiment with mathematics to find new solution by them-self.

For this project instead, the DB with all the solutions will be available as soon as November and December months will be finished to being processed for dividing the solution by their ranks.

Thanks

So will this be another Boinc application or a manually crunched application?
Thanks

Why does Latinsquares pay so few points per hour?

Is the challenge asking users to run just Latinsquares or Symmetric Prime Tuples or both? How will the points be compared?

Is SPT a working project as Natalia has posted that the project was stopped but it appears to still be running?

The competition is for K-Tuple, not Latin Square, so it is to manually find them, not with this Boinc programs tasks.

It is for people with a mathematical background that use (if available) or build the programs they need to try to find the solutions in the provided tasks.

Winner will be determine by the solutions provides for the 7 tasks.

p.s.
This BOINC project was born after running the previous competitions (all with prime numbers) for let all people participating in find solution to Latin Square problem by just donating CPU power (e.g. with a competition of 3 months on Latin Square, the solution that could be find will be very little compared with actual DB of solution gave by ODLK1) .

So ice00 if I understand you correctly, you are looking for application developers to create a new search program for K-Tuples.

Nothing to do with Latinsquares or SPT projects. As a BOINC cruncher it seems a waste of time to run both projects then?

Back to SRBase and PrimeGrid then.

No, the competition is an incentive to find solution to open problems for K-Tuple: a mathematician could prove a theorem that solves a task, or he could write a program to find solutions by exploiting some property of prime numbers.

The competition is not for BOINC crunchers: ODLK1 still searches for Latin Square.

Hello!

This is a competition for mathematicians and programmers.
Please read the competition description here
https://primesmagicgames.altervista.org/wp/primes-k-tuple-2/

If you are not a mathematician or a programmer, you can use my program to solve competition problem #1.
Write to me and ask for WUs.
The contact is on the specified competition page.
