Hi,

during the week there will be a change of server to a new better one. As all about ODLK1 is inside a virtual machine, there are no changes for clients.

The unique downside is that operation will takes around 1 hour and in that time ODLK1 will not be reachable.

Thanks

Hi

the new estimate is around 4 hours - I underestimated how long it takes to copy over the VM :)

I will also be doing some further maintenance as the UPS has died over the years and next week I will be moving over the RAM sticks as well, nothing that will take too long though.

Don't worry, the UPS has been replaced by a solar setup with 25kWh battery (to be upgraded later this/next year to 40+kWh)! :-)

Managed to score a SuperMicro FatTwin with 4x X11 node, so now it will be running on Xeon 6130 CPUs :-)

(lots of servers in the background, I refurbish servers)

migration is done!

There will be some downtime later next week, but only a short one - I need to do some remaining re-wiring now that the old server is empty.

Any idea abt the server status? I can not upload 1800 completed files.

It says: Scheduler request to http://boinc.multi-pool.info/latinsquares_cgi/cgi failed: Error 413

There's a thread on the forums that says how to limit the number of tasks reported at once. 1800 is a large lot and it gets throttled

Is there a problem with validation ? Nothing seems be coming back ? Also messages wont sort, this message is shown at the bottom of the Q rather than the top.

A further problem has occurred where I seemingly have 19 tasks processing but they are not showing on any of my computers therefore I cannot abort them. I presume this is maybe an effect of the Transitioner backlog being at over 30 hours ?

Hi, it appears there is a problem with completed tasks being Reported but not Validated since the 18th January. I currently have nearly 1,400 tasks Pending Validation.
I assume this is a known issue, that is hopefully being worked on, but I'm posting this in case there are others who like myself initially thought the problem was with their PC.

There is a growing problem with the Transitioner showing a delay of over 43 hours and increasing. I have 19 tasks stuck somewhere, definitely not on my machines. Have stopped doing work until this is fixed. On checking the Transitioner delay has increased by 3 hours in the last 8, to over 44 hours.

This is what AI says about things :-

A 40-hour delay in the BOINC transitioner usually indicates a significant backlog in the project's backend server rather than an issue with your local machine. The transitioner is responsible for processing completed tasks, updating database records, and triggering validation/assimilation.

I am not a Boinc expert but explanations say any delays > 1 hour should be investigated.

The Transitioner backlog has increased by another 12 hours in the last 24 hours from 41 hours to 53…..

I wonder if the different drives are not keeping up - I've switched to faster drives but from 4 drives in RAID10 to 2 drives in RAID1.

Let me see if I can do some changes to speed it up...

Doesn't that mean that it's just one disk really ?

hi,

the Transitioner is blocked for unknown reason that is being investigated.

It is the one that generate new tasks, so until it started to process, it not gives new tasks

Now from the logs all seems running in good manner.

However it has to process a long queue, so it needs many hours to be in sync (else, new tasks are generated from validated WU, so expect to have very little WU available until the queue is empty)
