If you sleep in or sit around in an office all day, you are not burning many calories.
If you work out later in the day it is beneficial, but if you can get your workout in earlier you are going to get a lot more benefits for your efforts.

If you do workout in the evening, at least do
what you can to walk or get moving in the mornings.
At the risk of stating the obvious you need to cut down on your beer intake.
However that alone is unlikely to be enough. Your stomach
muscles will have been stretched and you will have to do some work to get them back into shape.
Don't say it can't de done - it most certainly can. Just look at how
a woman can get back into shape after having a baby.
Its truly amazing what the human muscular structure is capable of
withstanding.
