Timeout because server couldn't accept them. So the assignments were late? Is this not related to the calculation? ice00 I would like to hear your answer. |

I'm curious if you have an idea when the project will be coming back online. I've got some 95 WUs cooling their heels and will expire by December 2. But I imagine that there are a lot of peeps with the same thing going on. You'd better have your electric bill paid up because I imagine there's going to be a lot of peeps in the same predicament. All my best to you, ice00! And I'm glad it's you, and not me! :-) I've got a cold beer waiting for you! |

A few days ago, there was another problem with the servers. Everything was restored on one computer, but the problems remained on the second.Computers have a different network adapter. A problematic computer with an old wi-fi connection.

So, I have hundreds of work units that are going to be failed due to time out - no response. Should I just delete them all from my work queue and lose all of the credit? I don't think 'credit' is important; the work you offer is much more important. |

The point I think he was making is should he just abort them because the Server will anyway once they expire, self aborting them saves the Server the work of doing it but they will be recycled to the end of the queue either way. Tasks that are sent back after they expire are usually ignored as far as the result goes but an Admin will have to clarify that. |

Hi, problems on some days ago was from internet provider connection, but it should be resolved during the day. Actually all seems fine. Unfortunately the timeout of BOINC in report a workunit is a feature that I did not like at all. If a uses miss the sending in time of a WU, BOINC will send the WU to another user, so it can be complete, but it rejects to give credits when the original solution come back. I think that it will be more good if when the original solution come back that credits will be gave to that people. For example there are some (critical) projects (not in this case) that a WU is processed at least 3 times from different people to be sure that the result is correct: receiving a 4 result will enforce that solution. |
